J&S receives award for excellence in design

COOKEVILLE -- J&S Construction Company, Inc. has been awarded the Excellence in Design Award (Residential Projects) from Chief Buildings for Dr. Larry McCown’s recently constructed residence.

The 10,000 square-foot dwelling, located in Lebanon, Tenn., includes approximately 5,000 square feet of living space on the second floor. The living quarters also includes an elevator, as well as room for the display of antique memorabilia. The first floor of the building is approximately 5,000 square feet and is used to store an extensive collection of fire station memorabilia.

Chief Buildings’ 2009 Building awards included approximately 200 total entries with 44 projects winning an award in one of 18 categories. The winners were selected by Chief personnel based on architectural features, unique design and use of Chief metal building products.

Kevin McCaleb, COO for J&S Construction, was formally presented with the award at the annual Chief banquet held at the Paradisus Riviera Cancun Resort in Cancun, Mexico.
