Lumber is an essential, versatile material used in both the construction and woodworking industries. With a booming housing and construction market, Huskey Truss and Building Supply, a family-owned and operated lumber and building material company based in Middle Tennessee, reached a point where its Murfreesboro facility needed to expand its production space.

Our design team created a floor plan that effectively tied 34,000 square feet of new production space to the company’s South Rutherford Boulevard operation. The addition was carefully constructed to match the existing facility’s façade, which is a pre-engineered metal building with concrete tilt-up wall panels, and included modifications to a free-standing, interior two-story office area.

The office renovation included relocation of the break area, new restrooms as well as enhancements to existing restrooms, new supervisor office, new cabinetry, new LVP flooring for the second floor as well as sleek sealed concrete for the first floor, and the addition of elevated observation platforms, all designed to improve the conditions for the workforce, overall efficiency of the operation, and to better meet the current demands of the construction industry.

J&S also constructed a new site development in the back end of the property, clearing two wooded acres and providing a new fenced in gravel lay down area for finished products to be stored.

The truss manufacturing site remained in operation during construction and experienced zero down-time because of the construction project. The Huskey team was delightful to work with and together we were able to provide the additional space they needed to keep up with the demands of the bustling construction industry.
