As memory care evolves, communities continue to reevaluate both their philosophy and physical spaces, and the concept of home becomes more complex. Studies have shown that a high-quality, person-centered concept assists in the support of the growing patient population affected with dementia.
Bailey Manor, a family-owned company that specializes and caters only to Alzheimer’s and Dementia care, saw a need for its services to expand to the Chattanooga market. J&S Construction’s expansive portfolio of senior care living facility ground-up projects and thorough renovation jobs provided Bailey Manor representatives the contentment of selecting our Team as the design-build partner for its fifth Tennessee site, located in Hixson.
Bailey Manor prides itself on providing a comfortable, home environment for people with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. The construction of this site marked J&S Construction’s second ground-up facility with the Bailey Manor Team, and each facility was designed with a great deal of thought and planning to meet the specialized needs of Alzheimer’s and Dementia residents, making their lives safer, less stressful, and more meaningful.
J&S Construction and Bailey Manor devised an accessible 23,000 square-foot layout that features 33 generous bedrooms and a beautiful, grand living space with coffered ceilings, a large fireplace and skylight. The design, void of any hallways, helps reduce anxiety and improves orientation to a new environment, helping ease the transition period. The facility comes equipped with a spacious dining room, commercial kitchen, beauty shop and rehabilitation room.
A secured exterior courtyard with lounge area is located at the backside of the facility that provides a natural setting for residents to enjoy the lush landscaping and edible plants such as peach trees. There is also an employee break room, office area, care station and state-of-the-art security system with keypad access control for entering and exiting.
