J&S Construction supports Tennessee's fine arts

October 5, 2010

Nashville, TN - October 5, 2010 - Studio Tenn, Nashville's newest professional theatre company announced today that J&S Construction will be the Executive Producer and Title Sponsor of Hello, Dolly! Additionally, Studio Tenn announced that Broadway star and Nashville native Chuck Wagner will be joining the already star-studded cast.

It may seem rare for a construction company to team with a theatre company to support its very start-up as an arts organization, but J&S Construction with it's large vision and creative design capacity has never been timid. J&S is an industry leader in commercial and "green" construction. In fact, J&S discovered not only how to build green but to do it in an affordable and cost effective manner. J&S's environmentally friendly approach strikes a chord not only with Studio Tenn leaders Matt Logan and Jake Speck but they believe it will do likewise with their audience base.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with J&S Construction,” says Speck. "The people at J&S are the kind of passionate, quality driven people with whom we are proud to be aligned. While construction companies might not be your typical sponsors of the arts, nothing we do at Studio Tenn is typical and I am finding the same to be true of the J&S leadership team. We like to think outside the box, as do they. Perhaps together we will chart a new normal."

Additionally, as is Studio Tenn, the J&S leaders are aficionados of high quality entertainment. CEO John D. Stites states, "J&S Construction is proud to be sponsors of wholesome, professional entertainment that will add to the cultural experiences of Tennesseans."

For their upcoming production of Hello Dolly!, to be held in just three weeks, Studio Tenn is currently working day and night to stage this big-time production punctuated by a blended cast of stars from Nashville and from New York’s Broadway. Studio Tenn promises Hello, Dolly! is going to be true to the very bold promise stated clearly in the company’s mission statement.

The recent addition to the cast, Chuck Wagner, grew up in Nashville and went on to star on Broadway in such productions as Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, Into the Woods and The Three Musketeers. Wagner will join previously announced Nashville favorite and Dove Award winner Nan Gurley, Broadway's Michael Mindlin (9 to 5, Mamma Mia, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Ashley Anderson McCarthy (NBC's "Grease: You're the one that I Want") and Carrie Tillis of the famed Tillis family.

At the helm of the production is Studio Tenn's Artistic Director Matt Logan who has reached national prominence as an artist, director and designer and was recently featured in the Sunday Arts section of The New York Times. Producing the show is Studio Tenn's Managing Director Jake Speck, himself no stranger to the business, having spent the last two years treading the boards of Broadway in the smash hit Jersey Boys.Whether you talk with theatre patrons, the performing artists of middle Tennessee, prospective donors or existing sponsors, there is exciting momentum behind this young company, and Nashville audiences stand to benefit the most. Hello, Dolly! will be the first production of Studio Tenn's inaugural season and will run October 21-24 at the Troutt Theater on the Belmont University campus. Future productions of this inaugural season include A Christmas Carol (December 10-19) and The Glass Menagerie (February 17-27).

Tickets to Hello, Dolly! are $49, $35 & $20 and Studio Tenn has extended it's special inaugural season ticket price of $99 for a limited time only. All tickets can be purchased at studiotenn.com.
